Recently in Prep/1J we read the story "Blossom Possum". We have been making all sorts of predictions of what we thought may have fallen on poor little Blossom Possum's head. (We are clever and know the sky wasn't really falling!) One of our predictions was that a gum nut may have fallen, but some students weren't too sure what a gum nut was. Mr Darcy was very kind and found some gum nuts from down in the forest for us to look at! We could see all the different growing stages of the gum nuts from a little pod to a flower and then finally into a gum nut. We noticed how heavy a bunch of gum nuts are and thought it would hurt poor little Blossom Possum if they really did fall on her head!
