Two fantastic days of competition concluded in the last week of term 2 with Wattle convincing winners in the 2022 Childers State School athletics carnival.
The day began with a spirited march past with colourful costumes and original war cries. The very spirited efforts of the Wistaria Wizards and Witches earned them the team spirit shield from the Wattle Pac-men and Waratah Angry Birds.
A big feature of the day was the Myrna Lunn Medal - a handicap event similar to the Stawell Gift named in honour of long standing teacher aide and keen athletics supporter Mrs Myrna Lunn. It was won by a very determined Shayla Robertshaw.
