Childers State School is part of Education Queensland and serves the rural Isis community and the township of Childers. Childers is located almost halfway between Maryborough and Bundaberg on the Bruce Highway.
The school was established in 1888, although it was moved to the new buildings at its current site in 1987.
Enrolments vary around the level of 330 children. In 2009 there are 12 classes from prep to year seven. We enjoy the expertise of a full-time Teacher-Librarian, as well as Music, Physical Education and LOTE (Languages Other Than English - German) . A Special Education Unit operates from the school.
